ABSTRACTER Releases Track

With Oakland, California-based ABSTRACTER's second full-length, Wound Empire, nearing release in early February, an ominous foretaste of the album's wretchedness has been leaked via music and arts webzine, Cvlt Nation.

Boasting an apocalyptic view on the future of our planet and its occupants, ABSTRACTER's harsh output surges with influences from across the extreme underground music spectrum, a crushing blackened sludge infiltrated with elements of noise, black metal and psychedelic wrath, as Wound Empire boasts the band's most demoralizing elements to date, its four massive movements drain forty-two minutes of your precious life. Recorded and mixed at Earhammer Studios in Oakland, California by Greg Wilkinson (Brainoil, Pallbearer, Noothgrush, etc.) and mastered at Audiosiege Mastering studios in Portland, Oregon by Brad Boatright (Wolves In The Throne Room, Nails, Sunn O))), Sleep, etc.), Wound Empire's cover art and layout was handled by the band's friend Kevin Gan Yuen of Sutekh Hexen, and is a must-hear for fans of Altar of Plagues, Inter Arma, Thou, Samothrace, Amenra, Indian, Wolvhammer and the like. The opening track to the LP, "Lightless," has been leaked exclusively via Cvlt Nation, who issues of Wound Empire, "Every song opens heavy unseen doors of despair and behind them are the broken dreams of all humanity."

Set for official release on February 10th, 2015, Wound Empire will be available on 12" vinyl LP through Fragile Branch Recordings (US), Vendetta Records (EU/DE), 7 Degrees Records (EU/DE) and Shove Records (EU/IT), on CD by COF Records (formerly known as Church Ov Fuck - UK), on cassette tape co-released by Sentient Ruin in collaboration with An Out Recordings, and digitally again through Sentient Ruin. For the LP, there will be 600 copies pressed, of which 500 will be pitch black and 100 on clear wax with black and grey haze. The CD will be in an edition of 100 hand-assembled, four-panel, gatefold, vinyl-styled cardboard jackets with a 6mm spine and insert. The tape will come in 100 units as a five-panel U-card in a clear Norelco box with a cardboard outer sleeve.
