I ended up enjoying it a lot. The artwork was a bit lame so I expected it to be run of the mill death metal. I was fairly impressed to say the least, the musicianship is there and I found it to be technical/brutal without doing it for the sake of being technical/brutal. I'd say give it another chance. I only have a promo version, I'm thinking about changing that soon!

I really need to get around to checking out that Oceans of Slumber album, I remember you and adg saying good things about it.

Oh and when you get your Total Negation album, let me know what you think! I'm fairly intrigued to hear it, avant-garde depressive black metal sounds awesome.

I consider Nucleus to be a modern day heavy metal classic. I need to spin Into the Lair of the Sun God sometime soon, it's been some time since I shown it love.
