It'd be nice if there were more pure folk metal bands, like Korpiklaani, instead of bands like Skyclad or others that use extreme metal to back up their sound. Of course, that being said I don't mind the power/folk metal or heavy/folk metal combos as they just work better.

I love Korpiklaani, which is very unusual for me. There just seems to be a joy and simplicity to their music.

Have you not listened to Cruachan? Some of their albums are rooted in black metal but they have a couple where the influence is incredibly minimal.
