Come on, now! Tell me about your favorite metal instrumentals.
Top 10 is cool, but list as many as you want. I am particularly interested in instrumentals written by groups that don't exclusively write instrumentals (eg. "The Jester's Dance" by In Flames or "From Skin to Liquid" by Cannibal Corpse) A few of my favorite are: Losfer Words - Iron Maiden Intro to Reality - Anthrax Urotsukidoji - Testament The Heart of it All - Chimaira Funeral in Space -Armageddon Dysphoria - Cloud Kicker Canto 34 - Five Finger Death Punch Orion - Metallica (well, really just the S&M version that lives in my imagination) Dialogue with the Stars - In Flames Winter's Triangle - Dark Tranquility I'd love to hear about some from lesser known bands. For example I came across "Desolate Horizons" by a band called Hexen, and it reminded me of a denser kind of "Voice of the Soul" by Death. Ready, set...go! |

Tupan! Nice call on Laguna Sunrise! That tune transports me into another place, and it's just such a simple acoustic piece. I can't stress how much I love that utterly non-metal piece. It's definitely a hippie-influeced "flower-power" sort of thing. Man, I love that song. |

Sorry to get sooo excited, but I never run into anyone who knows that song, let alone appreciates it.

Laguna Sunrise is a very relaxing piece created by the genius that is Tony Iommi. One of the things that make this song so awesome is that the other (awesome) tracks of Vol. 04 are very different. Laguna Sunrise is a contrast to the rest of the album!
