I'm shocked these guys aren't on the site. They're early stuff was grindcore but they're opting towards a more mathrcore/experimental and noise rock style now. They're amazing thought :D

They're pretty crazy, but I definitely wouldn't call them metal. Love them though! Their 11 song self titled EP is one of the most interesting recordings in my collection.

Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.

I guess its the metalcore team that should have a listen then?

Eh, they're more closer to grindcore. They're harder to categorize than just any subgenre. They're noisy and change time a lot and the vocals are screamed, but I don't think they're metal. More like avant-garde noisecore. I would vouch for them in Avant-garde if I was at Prog Archives though.

I took a listen to a couple of samples and I hear quite a few avant garde elements too. Ill notify the avant garde team.

I haven't heard too much, but what I have heard it sounds like they're more deeply rooted in grindcore than avant-garde. Have a sample of their most avant-garde song?

I think this one sounded pretty avant garde: http://www.spirit-of-metal.com/video/video_read.php?id_groupe=8661&id_video=15658

Hmm...yeah, this one does a bit. It still does have that basic grind-core song structure, though. I'm still kinda leaning towards grindcore because they're known for doing some weird stuff (kinda like the Microsoft Sam voices in Prowler in the Yard. Sure it's weird, but not really making it avant-garde). Still sounds like a noise-rock/grindcore/powerviolence sorta band.

Well they're mostly tagged as noisecore, which I guess is what you get when you mix a lot of weird noises with lots of time signature changes under a hardcore punk attitude. I know nothing of the genre apart from them though.

I cant say Im very knowledgable in the field either. This kind of music gives me a headache and Im used to some pretty extreme stuff

Hmmm, I thought they were already here. I see them as a grindcore/noisecore band, I'll add in the near future. |
