^^ Bathamel: it's in the Roman Empire times and it's taking in place in the Britain's territory, some tribes gave some trouble to the Empire warriors in their quest to take on the world.
Again, not the best movie, but a nice surprise (I had no expectation at all) About ROBIN HOOD, I am really not sure about this one.... ;-( |

that one looks awesome, a middlage warmovie (one of my favourite genres of movies), what is it about and where is the setting, looks Roman Empire ish for me though, I saw another warmovie/fable yesterday which i would rate 7,6/10, for several reasons which is to long to write here now, and I can't get enough of Russal Crowe with sword and Mail armor, I still wait on a midleage movie starring Russel Crowe and Hugh Jackman, that would be epic bearded movie. ![]() Edited by Balthamel - 24 Jun 2011 at 2:27pm |

Being in bed with a severe flu, I had the time to watch all episodes of this classic:
![]() I prefer the original Macross Saga though, which I'll probably watch too, but first this: ![]() |

I have just seen Hunter Prey 8/10
It's a really well-made indie sci-fi film directed by Sandy Collora - the guy that made Batman Dead End. It's low budget, but more than makes up for the lack of budget through its gripping story & great actors. It reminds me of a good 70's sci-fi b-movie, and its simple but compelling story makes for a highly entertaining flick. The first ten minutes can be a bit tedious, but those who wait will be greatly rewarded. I watched it through netflix, so if you have that, you should head over and stream it right away.

I picked up a ton of movies today (mostly on sale/clearance), and it will take me a while to make it through them. Most of them are action films because that's what I'm feeling lately (I re-watched Heat last night). Here's my movie entertainment for the next little while:
- Escape From New York 2-disc edition (for FREE!!!!) - Lethal Weapon (the only one I bought that I've seen) - Aliens - Charles Bronson Collection (Cold Sweat, Someone Behind the Door, Lola, and 10 episodes of Man With A Camera) - Breakheart Pass (more Bronson!!) |

I guess some good starters for martial arts movies would be Bruce Lee films. The titling of the first few films differs in North America (titles in brackets)than from the rest of the world. Any one of The Big Boss (Fists of Fury), Fist of Fury (Chinese Connection), Way of the Dragon (Return of the Dragon), or Enter the Dragon are good watches. Avoid any other titles because there were lots of Bruce Lee clones that sprouted up after his death. Jackie Chan has plenty of classic kung fu movies from the 1970s. He was even a stuntman in a few Bruce Lee movies. From his 70s stuff, Shaolin Wooden Men, Snake In Eagle's Shadow, Drunken Master, and Fearless Hyena are among my favorites. He had some cool action movies in the 80s that were more stunt based. I'd recommend Police Story and Project A. The great thing with many Jackie Chan movies is his blend of skill and technique with humor. I own several Asian martial arts titles that are probably only for die-hard fans/collectors like me, but Eastern Condors jumps out as a cool, war-based Asian action movie starring Sammo Hung. Jimmy Wang Yu was a big star in the 70s too, and he has some nice movies. If you're into over-the-top movies a bit on the gross side (understatement), check out Ricky Oh: The Story of Ricky. Very corny, but its a fun watch: ![]() |

Any fans of martial arts movies out there?
I picked up a copy of the classic "The One-Armed Swordsman" today. I've seen several Jimmy Wang Yu films, but not this one. ![]() |
