These song titles are acronyms, abreviations for something but what?

N.I.B. - Black Sabbath

A.I.R. - Anthrax

what do these acronyms stand for? anyone?

The title was widely rumoured to have stood for "Nativity in Black" (or to a much lesser extent, "Name In Blood"). A.I.R. apparently stands for 'Adolescence In Red'.

The lyrics indicate a definite adolescent theme, so I guess that's probably right.
