I think the Japanese group Band-Maid might be a good fit for MMA. Their style falls somewhere in between hard rock and groove metal. Their earlier releases are more hard-hitting than their latter ones, but overall I think they're a relevant band for inclusion. Here are some music videos for the sake of reference: Also, wash your hands, you dirty virus-spreadin' pigs! |

I find myself shocked that they are not already here, considering I know I thoroughly evaluated them and approved them to be added based on the 2018 album World Domination, which in spite of what RYM'ers think, I believe is more than metallic enough to qualify as heavy metal. The rest might be hard rock with some more iffy ones on the pop front, but they definitely fit for that album.
In fact I'm pretty sure they were here, so I'm really wondering what the hell happened to them. Unless I'm mis-remembering and a collab previously asked for a go-ahead for them, then never followed through with doing the actual work after getting it. But I'm reasonably sure I already added them. Yet they are not here now. Which makes me wonder who deleted them and when. |

I think I´d take the responses above as a go Kim , but you should probably wait for an official go before adding.

I think you're pretty safe to go ahead based on Nicole's and Adam's response.

Yes, feel free. As I said, I'm positive that they were already here. Like 95% sure even and I'm genuinely confused over why they are not here now, since I'm also reasonably sure if was me who added them. They were memorable due to how metallic I found the World Domination album compared to what others were saying about it, on RYM, where I've even left genre votes which tells me I worked on this band for MMA, since that's been the only times I've really used that feature for a long time.
So I'm reasonably sure someone deleted them. And if I ever find out who they and I are going to be having serious words. Or I may be wrong and 2020 has just driven me insane by this point.

^Yeah this terrible year has been hard on all of us . It´s probably possible to check if they were once here, but I can´t understand why someone would delete a profile here unless there is consensus among the collabs that it should be deleted. While I don´t question your memory, I sincerely hope that the original profile hasn´t been deleted

Could've sworn they were here already as well lol. Don't know where else I would've even heard of them considering I don't really listen to this kind of metal.

I can't find record on this forum as proof that they were here, but we have at least three people including me who thought they were and I'm not sure how we can all be mistaken on this same band.

I'm guessing I actually had just seen them talked about being added and they just never did get added, as that's all that comes up in a search.

I seem to recall that a while ago the site had a major freak out and we did lose a few bands after a backup was reverted to. If I'm remembering that correctly it may be that Band-Maid were originally caught up in that and overlooked for re-addition.

I can't say I recall that, but if you're right that would explain why I remember adding them and they're weren't here all this time. That's preferable to someone having deleted them and not come clean on it.
This site really does need a failsafe feature where deleted profiles/releases can be easily retrievable by admins at least for a certain amount of time. If that's what happened. I'm still not ruling out mis-remembering on my part. But I know deletion accidents can and have happened before, but were quickly owned up to and fixed. That's not ideal with no restore feature, but it's not something we'd punish. It's a shit happens situation. At least the band is definitely here now and we should all remember this in case they mysteriously vanish again.
