The only almost completely heavy metal album that Kiss ever made (though Revenge comes close), and what an album. This is an underrated masterpiece of 80's trad metal.

Underrated??? NOTHING ever, at any time, in any way has been underrated about KISS, especially not by Gene and Paul!

Well obviously I'm sure they're even still proud of their forays into disco and failed concept album, which are laughing stocks now. I mean to say it's underrated among metalheads, as I don't think many give it a chance because they think it'll just be another normal Kiss album.

Quite true. Often gets called their heaviest album too. But KISS fans... they're kind of fanatical some of them.
Holy shit. Never would have I expected the same band that made one of the most obnoxiously catchy rock songs, Black Betty, created a blistering masterpiece of 70's heavy metal only a year later.
Seriously, this is basically late 70's Judas Priest with a bit of a southern flavor:

I agree it’s a cracking album.
If anyone wants this at modest cost on CD, the Best Of album is basically the first two albums back to back.
