I don't understand either, I think it's a pretty good album.

I'm with you. Thumbs Up Duke is excellent.

...and I'm assuming we're both on the same page when I say that 70's Genesis is some of the best music ever recorded. Big smile (in my [correct] opinion, of course Tongue)

I also like We Can't Dance, the longer songs on it are great.

CAS is better than most 80s Genesis, except Duke.

I like it quite a bit, and I'm not quite sure why so many people have such a strong hatred for it. I dig the dark, moody atmospheres. Certainly better than most of their 80's output. Thumbs Up

That being said, I always get a strange look when I confess my love for We Can't DanceLOL Other than "I Can't Dance" (which just sucks IMO), I think it's an amazing prog/pop album. Tracks like "Driving the Last Spike" and "Fading Lights" are just top-notch.

Pretty much as expected then eh?

Yeah, basically. The thing is, I've never been onboard the Tate hate bandwagon (though his recent solo album was absolute garbage, for sure,) as I've never been a huge fan of any form of Queensryche, so I didn't go into this with any expectations, good or bad, and in the end I got mild enjoyment out of it, which was about what I expected. I tend to rate most Queensryche stuff about the same, and this was no exception. The new album from "legit" Queensryche will most likely rate around the same as well, like their last one did. I definitely liked this more than that Annihilator album I listened to earlier, which did end up being quite weak.

How are you finding it? I always found it to have too much of intro/interlude type stuff instead of just getting on with it.
