TITAN are a hardcore/post-metal group from Toronto, formed as a four-piece in 2006 before solidifying into a quintet in late 2007. They are currently signed to Hypaethral Records, who released their latest album, 2012's "Burn", which is available for a name-your-price download on the label's Bandcamp page.
TITAN play a style of post-metal heavily rooted in both sludge and hardcore, and come off with a very grandiose, almost soundtrack-like vibe. The band members cite everything from Canadian hardcore and punk to 70's prog rock as their influences. While earlier releases have the band sounding more like fellow hardcore rockers and countrymen CURSED, later releases show the band slowing down and lengthening out their style to make room for more subtle sonic changes and emotional draw, while still adding layers upon layers of crushing heaviness the post-metal genre is well known for.
