Another boring Bathory album that I had in the 80s and eventually lost as a strategic move. Similar to the debut there is a lot of sonic noise and scratchy vocals, adly produced, mostly sustained growls about the devil and his dark domain. Contrived, and really dull, it has no heart, and only will appeal to those into the Norwegian satanic mess laugingly called music. It is bleak, soulless and downright demonic. None of it is uplifting, and purposely draws on dark imagery and the blackness of the soul. I used to like this... but I was a dark disturbed soul back then. Nowadays I focus on more positive music so this album is rather a dark stain that I disposed of years ago never to return to.
