This guy is cursed...

Tim Ripper Ownes is one of the best metal vocalists ever. We all know that...ok we don't.

This guy got a lot of attention when he was asked to front Judas Priest, and even though the 2 albums he made with the band may not be their strongest...their are still people who really like them. Mainly for this guys voice. Even when he fronted Iced Earth, their was a lot of attention...and can you blame him. In my opinion, the 2 albums and ep he did with the band where probabbly 2 of their best, even in their heavily Matt Barlow tinged catalgoue. This guy just has just been able to take the world by the balls, and head voice scream in your face....but having said that...he really is cursed.

Look at this pattern, Judas Priest loose their lead singer, in comes Tim Ripper Owens, does an amazing job, fans want their old lead singer back. Iced Earth loose their lead singer, in comes Ripper again, does an AMAZING! Job, fans want their old lead singer back....SPOT A PATTERN!

Having said that, even though he lost 2 great vocal duties, he has been kept in word. Now fronting Charred Walls Of The Damned, HAIL!, doing some vocal duties in Beyond Fear, lending his amazing voice on an Avantasia song...the guy has been a bit busy since his cursed past...and this is something he did in his spare time.

To be honest, when this album came out, I was interested to hear it. I love this guys voice and would listen to him singing the phonebook...if possible. Having said that...this album MAJORLY disappoints.

I think even the silly cover art was a give away, but yea, this is pretty boring. I was expecting amazing proggy power metal epics, with his voice reaching ultimate highs, giving me tingles and orgasms over my body...but all I got was this.

I think the main criticisms with the album are the sound and the songs (which to be honest is a big thing in em....MUSIC!) The sound of the album is basically just watered down rocky metal songs, with no real passion or gusto. The lyrics are typical rock metal things that most people sing about, and it just gets boring (Jeesy Creezy, this guy used to sing about war and aliens and stuff).Although, there is an interesting song about Roswell & Hangar 18 which isnt too bad.

The songs aren't memorable either. Usually I'm humming one of his tunes in my head now and then, but I really can't remember a single one. In fact I can't even remember a single note from this album. I remember listening to it...and then it ending...and then me being happy that it ended.

There are also some special guests on this album, e.g. Jeff Loomis...and even then they can't save the album.

CONCLUSION: This guy needs better help. Whoever his band and co songwriters where need to be replaced. I would listen to another one of his solo outings again...but only if someone good was helping him. Disagree...well here's an example of why I'm right...compare any song of this album to Ten Thousand Strong off of Iced Earth's Framing Armageddon...SEE! I'M RIGHT!
