If Britny Fox often compared to Cinderella, maybe that's because half of the band's members actually is from Cinderella until Tom Keifer kicked Michael Kelly Smith and Tony Destra out, and they're back for vengeance with this self-titled debut in 1988. Although later on, Cinderella is still unbeatable with their "Long Cold Winter"'s three-platinum belts which was released in the same year, Britny Fox is still considered one of the successful act by winning Metal Edge magazine's award for Best New Band and racking up Gold status.

Dean Davidson even got the same singing style with Keifer, inspired by the grittiness of Brian Johnson's voice, Britny Fox's music can easily explained as a combination of Cinderella's bluesy approach and AC/DC's in-your-face rock and roll attitude. Davidson contributed a lot by writing most of the songs here and while "Girlschool" and "Long Way To Love" is their biggest hits, I found both of them are mediocre. "Save The Weak" is an average ballad but somehow still criminally enjoyable. "Kick N Fight" and "Don't Hide" are two examples of the weak spots here, but several other songs are fun and exciting. "Rock Revolution", a good AC/DC driven tune, "In America" a great rockin' songs that reminds me a bit of "Anarchy In The UK", "Hold On" has a great solos and spirit-burning chants, and "Gudbuy T'Jane" is an awesome rendition of Slade's song and their best track of the album.

Britny Fox's debut is a good addition to your collection but somehow I still think something's wrong if their best track is a cover version. However, both singles have a nostalgic value that will probably remind you a good memory of high school and party, and could be the only reason to should buy this album.
