The departure of Fast Eddie opened the door to this one-off collaboration between Motörhead and Brian "Robbo" Robertson of Thin Lizzy fame, a move which injected Motörhead with a bit of extra spark after the slightly underwhelming Iron Fist. The band seem to have stepped back to basics a little here - "We're Motörhead, we play rock and roll" is how they begin their concerts, and that's the agenda they keep in mind, with efforts to out-speed The Ace of Spades set aside in favour of a set of songs slap on the borderline between heavy metal and hard rock. It's easy to assume that all Motörhead albums sound the same at first, but Another Perfect Day is a great example of one which at first listen doesn't seem to deviate from the formula very much, but which reveals interesting differences once you look beyond the surface.

Motorhead simply did not do bad albums. This one was no exception. Still miss them.
