Warthur
Having pioneered the Beauty and the Beast style of gothic metal, Theatre of Tragedy took the bold step of almost completely dropping it on Aegis. This time, Liv Kristine up business as usual, whilst Raymond Rohonyi provides clean vocals in an emotionally fragile, gothic style. Not so much Beauty and the Beast as Woman and the Wimp, then, which suits the album's slightly greater emphasis on the "gothic" side of the gothic metal equation. Not quite the major breakthrough that Velvet Darkness They Fear was, but certainly still a strong release from the band's early period which acts as a very fine epilogue to their first phase.
