NEGATIVA are a Canadian progressive extreme metal act formed in 2005 in Montreal, Quebec. The band was formed by former members of GORGUTS, guitarist/ vocalist Luc Lemay and guitarist/ vocalist Steeve Hurdle, after GORGUTS split up in 2005. NEGATIVA released their self-titled debut EP in November 2006. The drums were played by Etienne Gallo and the bass was played by Miguel Valade. There have been a few lineup changes since then and Steeve Hurdle is now the only remaining founding member of NEGATIVA left. Luc Lemay left NEGATIVA in 2008 to reform GORGUTS. Luc Lemay´s exit from the band also signaled a change in style and the band have announced that their new material will sound different from the "Negativa" EP which was more or less a continuation of the progressive death metal style on the two last GORGUTS albums.
