OPETH Pale Communion

Opeth is surely one of the greatest and most interesting metal acts of the last twenty years. Many of their albums are awesome like Still Life, Blackwater Park or Ghost Reveries. From their 1996 opus Morningrise to the 2008 album Watershed, Opeth released only great albums. And then in 2011, they release Heritage who was not as good as the previous albums. So how is Pale Communion, their lastest release ? It's my third favorite album of Opeth. But for the fans of metal, and only metal, you will not like this album because it's more a progressive album than a metal album. It's soft compared to Morningrise or Blackwater Park. There's great tracks like River, Cups Of Eternity, Goblin or Voice Of Treason. It's very good and i recommand this album for progressive rock fans.

SLAYER Reign in Blood

Album · 1986 · Thrash Metal

Rage, violence, satanism, gore... thrash. This is not my favorite thrash album. In fact, it's only my fifth favorite. But it's still one of the greatest. For me, the two best songs are the first, Angel Of Death and his famous scream, and the last : Raining Blood and his great riff. Reign In Blood is one of the first metal albums that I listen and the first thrash album. It's cult and awesome. This is just rage and violence in 30 intense and violent minutes. There's no time to breath, no time to sleep, you just listen to it from the beginning to the ending.

ACCEPT Blind Rage

Album · 2014 · Heavy Metal

This is album is not perfect, but however, it's very good. The production is excellent, and the songs are just very cool to listen. To be sure that it's a good heavy album, just listen to the two first songs : Stampede and Dying Breed. This is rage and violence, this is just great. There's also the great Trail Of Tears or Dark Side Of My Heart. The whole tone of the album is heavy and dark like the previous album Stalingrad who was also good. This is just pure heavy metal with big riffs and violence. But this is what we want from Accept, no ?

IRON MAIDEN Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son

After four masterpieces (The Number Of The Beast, Piece Of Mind, Powerslave and Somewhere In Time), the band release one of his finest album. Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son is more progressive than the other albums but it's also epic and catchy and very well producted. The songs goes from the long epic piece (Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son) to shorter but great songs (Can I Play With Madness ?). Some songs of the album are just classics like The Clairvoyant, Moonchild, Infinite Dreams or The Evil Than Men Do. This is the last great album of Iron Maiden before Brave New World in 2000.

IRON MAIDEN Somewhere In Time

Album · 1986 · Heavy Metal

Iron Maiden made The Number Of The Beast, Piece Of Mind and Powerslave. Three albums who are surely in my top 20 metal albums of all time. So what can they do after ? Two other masterpieces. Somewhere In Time is an album with a more futuristic tone with synths, mysterious guitars harmonies (like in the intro of Caught Somewhere In Time) and also in the lyrics or in the awesome cover art. The music is just excellent with great pieces like Caught Somewhere In Time, Wasted Years, the epic Alexander The Great, the instrumental Déjà Vu or the great Heaven Can Wait. Every song on the album worth the listening. 5/5.
