Kyuss, the godfathers of the stoner metal. This record is after ´Welcome to the Sky Valley´ the second best album of Kyuss in my opinion. The opening track ´Thumb´ is a great way to open this album. The heavy guitar sounds in combination with the voice of John Garcia is the definition of Stoner metal. Also ´Green Machine´ is a great track, kyuss did also release a video for this track. If you are not familiar with stoner metal, ´blues for the red sun´ is a great way to get introduced with it. The album is a little bit easy to listen, but it is great stoner metal. When i´m listening to this record again and again i keep thinking as the last track of this record called; YEAH!

It's a pleasure to write the first review on MMA of this masterpiece. Unfortunately i haven't seen much Marilyn Manson fans on the forum.. Maybe they will come.

My first touch with the music of Marilyn Manson was the cover of the well known Eurythmics song called 'Sweat Dreams'. When I was looking for some more music of Marilyn Manson I found the title track of the album called 'Antichrist Superstar' on youtube. It did completely blow me away! So I bought the album at the local music store.

The tracks 'Antichrist Superstar', 'Little Horn', 'Mister Superstar' and 'Angel with the Scabbed Wings' are really great metal songs. 'Tourniquet' has some gothic/emo metal influences. 'Kinderfeld' and 'Minute of Decay' are the more easy to listen and a little bit spacey songs. Then we have the industrial metal influences in tracks such as 'Dried Up, Tied and Dead to the World', 'Cryptorchid', 'Deformography', 'Wormboy'. Also the lyrics on the album are really intelligent. Only the last two songs 'Man that you fear' and 'Empty Sounds of Hate' are just a waste of time imo. Especially 'Empty Sounds of Hate'. It gives me a little bit the idea that it is published on the album for filling it up.

But over all, it is really great rocking masterpiece and in my opinion the best record of Marilyn Manson.
