Legs Diamond is referred to as the American Deep Purple. Hard progressive rock/glam metal with a dual guitar attack with keyboards driving the sound. First two albums are excellent, but as was typical of many bands of the day after not finding success shifted thier formula to more of an AOR hard rock sound and style and failed miserably. Mercury Records didn't support the band very well and the band broke up. Mercury was infamous for not backing up thier artists during this time period. Starz and Neil Merryweather were just a few other examples.
The band reformed in 1984 and released a pair of hard rock/glam metal albums and continued touring and releasing a few albums from the late '80's through to the mid 2000's.
