Legacy is an old band that's formed in 1987 and a part of white metal movement which was popularized by Stryper, Whitecross, Petra, and Guardian two decades ago. Eonian Records did a good job looking for a great band like this and published the unreleased album after being shelved for over 20 years. Their musical style is very close to Stryper, and also got the influences from some earlier glam/heavy metal pioneers, Dokken, Scorpions, and Krokus. The bad thing is that the sound production is quite weak and raw, but you can't complain much since this came straightly from an old dusty recording.
Several outstanding songs here are : "It's Real" with a great Dokken-esque riffs and chorus, "Cross The Line", crossing between Motley Crue and Scorpions, "Forever In Your Arms" is a mid-tempo Stryper-ish rocker that's the best song here, "Change of A Broken Heart" is an excellent slab of commercial hard rock, "One Way Or The Other" displayed a thrilling guitar duels, and "Live It" has a punchy sing-along chorus. Some good songs to watch and listen are "Don't Run Away", "Red, White, and Blue", "Model Citizen", and "Vision of Perfection". The rest are decent and probably only "Salvation Is Law" and "What A World" are the weakest tracks here.
With many great songs, the bad point on this album is the low production value and the lack of originality, some even said that they're merely a copycat of Stryper, but I don't think they're an imitator, “heavily influenced” is probably a better description. If you're a big fan of glam metal or traditional heavy metal, Legacy's debut is worth checking out.
