A significant improvement over "Them", which it is a sequel to, Conspiracy sees the King Diamond band once again pay as much attention to the musical backing as to the vocals. As on "Them", King Diamond's singing is as multifaceted and wide-ranging as ever, but in addition to this the band show a bit more musical flexibility than the previous album, injecting their performances with all the drama and theatricality that the subject matter demands. The plot is somewhat more interesting than that of its predecessor to, so those fond of losing themselves in King Diamond's twisted horror stories are in for a treat.
