Early In-Quest material was experimental death metal with lots of strange, drawn-out song structures, fantastic, rabid vocals, pounding drums and bass, and interesting, complex guitar phrases. The band's EP Destination: Pyroclasm denoted a switch in styles from old-school death metal to industrial-influenced melodic death with noticeable metalcore influence. Epileptic was the first full-length in this style. It features twisting and shifting songs filled with progressive leanings, melodic and epic guitar lines, and ambience generated by keyboards and guitar, all topped with spectacular heavy breakdowns.
