Gloucester-based Idol Rich formed in 1980 as Hooker, and changed their name around 1984.
They quickly sold out of their EP, Working Girls at London's specialist metal store, Shades.
In 1986, bassist Geoff Curtis left to join Grim Reaper, and was replaced by ex Persian Risk bassist, Nick Hughes.
Also in 1986, original singer Lee Silver was replaced, first by Fay Wray frontman Mark Thompson-Smith, then by Tobruk vocalist Snake. Tobruk's drummer, Eddie Fincher moved in to replace skin-beater Mike Fisher.
