I've been listening to this type of music a lot lately, metal and other-wise, and thought it'd be good start up an 'appreciation' thread on this as I don't see one for this genre. It doesn't necessarily have to be just the metal variant, can include 'post-', 'electro-' and otherwise! What are some artists you enjoy, HAVE enjoyed or are now enjoying from the main genre of music? I've kind of just been going all over the place, so can't really say, I'm trying to REALLY familiarize nyself w/ the genre as I've heard some very interesting stuff in it! One band I can say I really like already is possibly Red Harvest, but I'll have to give' em a few more spins to know for sure!

I really like Industrial music, weather it be metal or not.

Some of the industrial bands/artists I listen to are: Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails, Pendulum, Puscifer, Ministry, Filter, and quite a few others Smile

Einsturzende Neubauten is by far my favorite industrial band so far. If you haven't already, I highly suggest listening to Halber Mensch.

I may rep the industrial metal team on MMA, but I'll admit I'm very far from an expert and doing it out of a lack of interest mainly.  That being said, I love Nine Inch Nails and Godflesh, and recently re-discovered Rammstein. Smile

Bump Tongue

It seems like Industrial metal is very underrated. Being a part of the industrial team has led me to find some new favorites.

I don't listen to a lot of Industrial but I LOVE Godflesh.

^I should really listen to more Godflesh, I've only heard their debut and really liked it. If you like Godflesh, I'd recommend Pitchshifter's first two albums and first EP. Has a sound similar to Godflesh and Ministry.

Thanks I have heard Pitchshifter, used to own a couple albums.  Hymns by Godflesh is particularly good.

Been into industrial again lately. Listening to Throbbing Gristle right now! I'll admit, I'm not too huge on their first album though.. a bit "artsy" for my taste!Smile

20 Jazz Funk Greats is a top TG album if you've not heard it. Don't be put off by the name (or the cover LOL).

Want some industrial recommendations? As part of the industrial team, I know of tons of great bands. Smile

I've got Final Muzak. Got it in a bargain bin for a couple of bucks. It's strange, because I really don't like it, but feel compelled to listen to it every so often. Most things I don't like I can ignore.

I'm not big on industrial. I love Godflesh and Ministry (also Lard and Revolting Cocks), but I don't think much of NIN. Here's some others you might like:
Skin Chamber (A Controlled Bleeding side project)

The Skeptics (NZ band. This is from about 1982. Warning vegetarians: the video was filmed in a slaughterhouse!)

Dead World

Here's some great bands to start with as far as industrial metal goes:
Ministry
Godflesh
Static-X
Fear Factory
Blue Stahli
Rammstein
Pitchshifter
White Zombie
Stabbing Westward
Post-1990 Killing Joke

And for plain industrial rock, Pendulum's 'In Silico' is great. Thumbs Up

Oh yeah, 'Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing' and 'City' are two weird but killer extreme/industrial metal albums.  Thumbs Up

I really like Alien.  Supposedly Devin Townsend came off all his schizophrenia meds during that recording.

Alien is great too, it's certainly a bit less weird then Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing. LOL
