Yes, I have this as well and a few other members too. I had contact about this with Max yesterday, but unfortunately things haven't been solved yet.

I found myself a way to follow a thread about this on PA. I googled "can't access progarchives" and, as I can't access the site itself, I clicked on "translate this page". http://translate.google.nl/translate?hl=nl&sl=nl&tl=en&u=http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp%3FTID%3D68282 - this is what I got .

Do you still have problems accessing PA? Our hypothesis is that there is maybe a major DNS update somewhere in Europe that may cause the problem. Still investigating...

Can someone who is not reaching PA can execute this command line on his computer and post the result here please. That may help us to identify the problem.

Yeah, I did that on my Mac (traceroute instead of TRACERT) yesterday and it said:

traceroute: unknown host www.progarchives.com

I wouldn't have thought that would make a difference to be honest, I have it as a favourite as I'm sure most regular visitors do and I can't access either.

Glad it's not just me. Tried deleting cookies, history etc and from other people having the same problem it's clear that wasn't going to be the answer.

If that is the problem presumably it'll right itself when it's finished, is that correct? Wouldn't other sites also be affected though if that was the case. I can get on any site i want except PA.

I'm sure you guy's will get it sorted. Smile

No! I wouldn't want to deprive you of it. I hope you'll come back on day. Smile And most people here are from PA anyway.

BTW, nice to be able to interact with you on another forum.

I'm always around, and my email address is still the sameWink. Anyway, it's true that most people here are from PA, and I'm very happy about that. If I hated everyone there, I would've dropped off the radar long since.

Not that we are following those Matches very faithfully... We're too busy looking forward to NEARfest for that! You know that Astra are playing there? On a different note, my Shadow Circus review should be online by next Sunday. The guys in the band are so excited about it!

That is right.  Nearfest is this weekend.  That should be pretty cool.  That should be a great weekend.  I'm pretty busy this weekend.  My parents are coming in next Tuesday to stay with me for a couple of weeks, so I have a bachelor pad that needs a lot of cleaning to become presentable.

Now can you do a PING from your home computer to www.progarchives.com ? From a command-prompt.

Hmmm, I've been able to access PA again today and went on again tonight fine but after being on 30 mins or so lost it when I tried to move to another page. Can't get back on at the moment - I'll try again later.

Nope. The same result as from tracert: cannot find the host.

IMPORTANT

Please, users who can't access the site, they need to call their ISP(Internet Service Provider) and ask them why they don't let them go through to www.progarchives.com .

Please send this to all your friends that can't access the site and send status updates to me [email protected]

It seems that everything works except for the forums (even the initial admin page). So you can enter for example http://174.132.95.132/all_collaborators.asp, but you can't get anywhere near forums: if you try to copy/paste:

http://174.132.95.132/forum/

you will get

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occurred while connecting to the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_db_connection
File Name:- common.asp

Error details:-

(I, however, don't have problems anymore.)

^ CLARKE2001, this test was not intended to work in the FORUM , just to report if access using the IP directly can work.

So I suppose you can't access the site using  http://www.progarchives.com/ - http://174.132.95.132 .

Is that right ?

What country are you in ? What ISP are you using (url of the company please)

Max, here's a bit more info for you....

My IP Adress is 82.0.246.0

My ISP is Virgin.

The link you've posted for us to try works for me and I'm in the UK.

I tried doing a Tracert and don't seem able to do one for some reason. tells me it's not a recognisable internal or external command. Not sure about a Ping - I'll look into it.

I called Virgin UK, and they have no problems accessing the site on their end.

Do you know other VIRGIN users who can't acces it ? Tony R is on NTLWorld too but I see he's been active on the forum today.

Hi M@X, I contacted my ISP ( http://www.era.pl - http://www.era.pl ) and they claim the problem must be on your end because they also weren't able to access it in any way. And they are not blocking any websites currently. The guy on the phone said that probably PA does not accept their (and my) IP, or something like that... Confused

Well, PA's blocking was not a bad thing I believe as it boosted the number of MMA forum viewers [well done, Max Thumbs Up] (however the number of forum viewers is still TOO low : I can come back in one month and see one or two replies to a thread that would have started today / and some threads sink in dormancy for a long period of time : are people too shy to post ????).

There is an issue right now with GOOGLE (still trying to figure it out) that prevent MMA to be listed in GOOGLE Search Results.

1 month ago the site was active , 2000 visitors/day. Now, because of that glitch, we are stable at 300 vis/day.

After PA access is fixed, I will dedicate my self to fix this GOOGLE issue for MMA.

^ My first guess would be that your work place proxy is caching DNS queries and will be updated in the next days. Keep on trying.... should boost the /force re-load and clear DNS cache for www.progarchives.com .

If you know the network department well, you can ask to clear the cache of the proxy Thumbs Up

May help, but you can also wait for monday and pray it's ok.
