but, but, but .... they're not Metal. Geek

Carl McCoy's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nefilim - The Nefilim and their only release "Zoon" was sort of gothic industrial/black metal-ish.

After spending more time exploring this artist, it seems like it is more rock than metal. Sorry, I will have to delete it. Cry

It is a shame, because they are a damn fine band and one of my favourite Goth Rock bands. You can probably add The Nefilim I would have thought as they are called "Metal" in a lot of places.

/edit: not to be confused with Nefelim, which is a different band all together

Yes, it seems The Nifilim fits more in Gothic Metal:  http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/the-nefilim.aspx - http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/the-nefilim.aspx

Cian Houchin's http://www.metech-recordings.com/ - Saints Of Eden is a really good industrial-techno-gothic-metal band well worth checking out - I'd have to give them a proper listen sometime to see if they're really metal or not (they are a bit like Rammstein so it's a possible)

I guess this thread can ble closed, and that the suggestion mentioned at the end should pop up in a new thread.

Yes, they belong to gothic ROCK, not gothic metal. I can't hear any metal in their first three albums.

Zoon is a side project by Carl McCoy and is indeed metal, but that is not an album by Fields Of The Nephilim.

^
maybe we should include only their last album.

And what about Killing Joke, who didn't play metal until 1990 ???? Should they be in MMA : maybe only their metal albums ?

The non-metal albums released by bands included in the database are indeed listed in their discography, but tagged Non-Metal, and cannot be reviewed. I think this is a very wise solution, because site users can get the whole picture of a band's output without seeing reviews of non-metal albums on the front page (something that seems to upset so many people).

Anyway, I think it's time to close this thread, and open a new one with Dean's suggestion.
