Another suggestion for you underworked  good people. Badlands, the band formed by ex-Ozzy guitarist Jake E Lee, featuring vocalist Ray Gillen, drummer Eric Singer and bassist Greg Chaisson. They fused metal with a more proto metal seventies sound a la Zeppelin, Bad Company etc.

I am a HUGE Jake fan. The whole band was definitely part of the metal community. But their music is a borderline case. A case could be made for glam, traditional, or not at all, saying they are hard rock.
I think that absolutely no metal fan would be put off by their inclusion because Jake is such a part of the metal story.
I vote yes, it's just where.
