Out of the ones listed above, I have to go with "Empire...". I love sci-fi cinema in all its forms, but I will not hesitate to judge sci-fi flick that I think suck very harshly - like "The X-Men" or "Matrix II and III", which I think are all special effects and absolutely no interesting content whatsoever. -------------

I must admit that I prefer flicks like "The Forbidden Planet" or "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (the original one) to a lot of the post-2000 sci-fi flicks. I also have a weakness for really kitchy stuff like "Flash Gordon" from 1980 and the "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century"-series (although I am not a big fan of the pilot episode).

"Total Recall" and "12 Monkeys" are great and so are "Blade Runner" and "Fifth Element". -------------

^I saw 12 monkeys a few months ago for the first time. Great movie indeed!  ... but I'll go with Blade Runner, an amazing, amazing film.If you want to know my opinion (I'm sure you do  ), I find Inception rather overrated, but still a good movie with a twist. Don't get that huge hype though... To be perfectly honest, I find "Alien" and "Aliens" incredibly boring for some reason. I like the three Predator flicks though (I haven't seen the "Alien vs. Predator" movies yet) because of all the insane violence in them. The same applies to "Robocop I and II", which I think are brilliant ultraviolent sci-fi flicks, while the third one is a lame and tame attempt to make Robocop family-friendly. -------------

i liked Demolition Man with Stalone and Snipes and Bullock, it is hillarious when Stallone is woken up with the ability to nitt sweaters, out of pure instict without thining of it,,,, ;:D
