Just using the words "traditional" and "progressive" together will seem like an oxymoron for some people, but all I mean by that is your standard "Dream Theater/Fates Warning" bands. Not just the rip-offs, but bands who play in that general style of mixing classic prog rock with traditional metal or power metal. A lot of people are probably tired of this, but I'm just now really delving past the obvious bands and hoping to find some more gems. @Certif1ed: LEGEND! Incredible band!! I was really into a whole murky, barbarian, progressive, proto-metal thing recently too, but Manilla Road, Cirith Ungol and Brocas Helm were about as far as I got. Damn, I'm seriously blown away by this. Nightsun is pretty great too. Kind of a Deep Purple/MC5/Black Sabbath-by-way-of-RIO sound. Really interesting band! @UMUR: Heaven's cry is a really sweet band! If you don�t know Psychotic Waltz yet I�d suggest taking a listen to this song. One of my alltime favorites. Psychadelic tinged progressive metal

If you want an easy introduction to Psychotic Waltz I�d take a listen to the "Bleeding" album. It�s my least favorite album by the band but it probably makes for a good introduction.
