Yep. Sepultura is over. The band released a statement (in portuguese): https://twitter.com/tmdqa/status/1733151572635296178

EDIT: Now in english too: https://www.facebook.com/sepultura/posts/pfbid02pdX3B9Qse33ni8rhuo6Ei5w5HSLjAMe74ex8Yej8YxSWSZRQVq8bK2rxgfBf982ml

Shame. Their last couple of albums have been their best in years.

I agree Paul. I guess maybe they want to go out on a high?

It kinda sucks though. Ever since Max Cavalera parted from them the Derrick Green fronted incarnation of the band has existed in his shadow (undeservedly in my view) and I don't know, it kind of felt like they were finally getting the respect they've frankly been owed for years again, especially after Quadra.

Very much undeserved, but I'm not gonna enter into that debate here.Wink

Anyway, I've spent countless hours listening to these guys, and saw them live in 2018. They are taking a leaf out of Slayer's book and going out with integrity and reputation intact, instead of shitting all over their legacy (KISS, Ozzy, Metallica please take note).

I'll miss 'em, but if they think it's time for things to come to an end, they are probably right.

Yes, this is what Andreas said in that video in portuguese. Stopping the activities while the band is stiil well loved and with good albums!

I am glad for seeing them live at least one time, with Derrick Green singing and Iggor on drums. It was amazing!

Hopefully I´ll get the chance to see them one last time if they come to Denmark on the forthcoming tour.
