Subject: Favorite Metallica Ballad

As we all know, Metallica has had a ballad type song as the 4th one on all their albums except Kill em All and St Anger.  OK, maybe some of these aren't exactly ballads but they do tend to be lighter than the rest of the album. You know what I mean. So which is your favorite? Mine is Fade to Black. Closely followed by The Unforgiven, and The Day That Never Comes. ------------- Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer and Testament. The real Big Four of thrash metal! Listen to doom metal, worship Satan |

I thought about III but I wanted to keep it with the "4th song" Silly I know I also really love Sanitarium and One. Awesome songs as well. Gotta be Fade To Black. I would maybe have chosen a different track from their discography but out of those Fade To Black wins hands down. How come so few options?

Hm, I was going to say "Hero Of the Day" but it wasn't there...that one doesn't count as a ballad? Having difficulties seeing how some of the other ones on the list do.
