I'd like to listen to more bands with style, simmilar to Death and first Haggard EP, which is basically pure technical prog death. Any suggestions?

If you're looking for something along the lines of late-period Death, I would check out Atheist (Unquestionable Presence in particular), Cynic, and Pestilence (mainly for Spheres). All of these bands have released classic technical death metal albums in the 90's.

If you're looking for something a bit more heavy and modern, check out Obscura from Germany. Their latest effort, Omnivium, is one of the best albums I've heard yet this year!

Hope that helps! Smile

Not from the 90s, but the album "Defiant Imagination" by Quo Vadis is highly inspired by Death, plus Steve Digiorgio is the session bassist on the album.

You may also like Sadus - highly technical death/thrash that also has Steve DiGiorgio on bass. Thumbs Up

Opeth's Still Life is the first thing that comes to mind. The previous three albums are more straightforward blackended death metal, but still good.

I wouldn't consider that album "technical", though... Ermm Awesome album anyway - if you haven't heard it, it's essential! Clap

It's not technical like mathcore technical but neither is just chug-chug-chug riffing.

Cyanotic from Denmark released a demo called "Chasm Within" back in the early 90s which you might be interested in. Open their http://www.myspace.com/375301058/music-player?sindex=-1.7&shuffle=false&amix=false&pmix=false&plid=14115&artid=9185719&profid=375301058&friendid=375301058&sseed=0&ptype=3&stime=8.855&ap=1&rpeat=false" rel="nofollow - MySpace player and scroll down to the track called "Eclipsed Existence" (it's from that demo) which is, for my money, their best song ever.
