Cephalic Carnage is one of those bands for me. Albums like Lucid Interval are amazing IMO, but can only be taken in small doses. That's way too crazy of an album for a casual listen.

I'm surprised that nobody's mentioned Meshuggah yet. | I would say Meshuggah, but I only ever play them when I know I'm not going to develop a headache from listening for too long. The only band I can say at the moment would be Boris, or Drudkh (all that buzzing gets damn annoying after a while, as epic as the music is). |

Quoting again for emphasis. For me, certain Bull of Heaven pieces. Especially the 13 hour long one which would have been the longest one I've ever listened to, but I was listening to it during the bus ride to and from Florida (mp3 player's battery life prevented listening to the whole thing in one trip). I stopped on the way back about 6 or so hours into the song. Still the longest amount of time I've spent listening to a single Bull of Heaven piece.  -------------

Liam, I just listened to Bull of heaven. The word "unmerciful" can't describe this band. It's one of the sickest things I've ever listened to. I don't have problem, I like it. But ok, these people are unbelievable.

^^^^ he's released some pretty good albums over the years. Some of his musique concr�te albums through the '80's would be some of my favourites. Hopefully your brother goes onward 'n' upward to check out the rest of what noise has got to offer. I'll admit while listening to Forest Poetry and Strength and Anger by Ildjarn on repeat yesterday my head began to throb in the wee hours of the morning.
