Gary Moore has reportedly been found dead in his hotel room is Spain. This is yet to be confirmed by the authorities.

From the Thin Lizzy Facebook Page:
Quote

It is with great sadness we hear of the passing of Gary Moore. Our thoughts go out to Gary's family at this time and our memories of Gary and his contribution to Thin Lizzy and music in general will live on forever.

Brian Downey: 'I am in total shock. I have known Gary since 1967 when he was in Platform Three and he's been an amazing friend ever since. It was a pleasure to play with Gary again in 2006 after his days with Lizzy. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers and i just can't believe he is gone'

Scott Gorham: 'Playing with Gary during the Black Rose era was a great experience, he was a great player and a great guy. I will miss him.'

I am gutted.

I met Gary on several occasions, and even jammed with him once.

He was one of Rock's gentlemen - and not enough tribute is given to the contributions he made, IMHO.

RIP Gary.

Fuck . . .

Dio and now Gary Cry.

Was VERY much into him in his Metal days, and the entire Album of "Wild Frontier" is excellent!  I played my
LP just about every week till I lost my Turn-table! I'm glad I was able to find this and his earlier work on CD.
Been wanting to re-discover Thin Lizzy, and this happens . . . too soon and too much more to do on his
Guitars Unhappy.  He also has some GREAT riffage on Greg Lakes "Nuclear Attack"! (See "Glove of Love's"
Icon above).

You will be missed very much, my heart goes out to your friends and families.  You left us with alot of great
Music . . .
May you be pluging-in with all the other greats and making Guitars scream in the Great Gig in the Sky Broken Heart.

Just heard this on the news.

The tribute clip was excellent and he played with some of the best such as BB King. The news report played clips of his 'Friday on my Mind' classic among others, and talked about his contribution to guitar metal. I saw his video many years ago and really enjoyed the melodic and acomplished guitar.

He has been taken too soon, too young.

RIP Gary Moore.

I avoid expletives usually, but there is one quote on the Comments page for this vid that sums it up better than anything I can dream up;

Fucking outstanding.
