Bio:
After several years of rehearsals and concerts, Sebastiano Benatti, Tommaso Mangione e Alex Stucchi (ex Antares) decide to set up the prog/alternative project of Dropshard. They debutted in september 2007 with a concert of instrumental unpublished songs.
In april 2008 the first selfproduced demo,"DSI", is published and then the band will start up a very hard tour in order to present the new hits.
The concerts are characterized by a dreaming atmosphere, which suddenly changes in true adrenalin moments. This feature is typical of the progressive genre that has inspired the band.
At the end of july 2008 Federico Ravasi joined the band as keyboard player completing, in this way, the instrumental line up.
In september 2008 the Dropshard, worked hard in the rehearsal room to produce their new demo. But there is a new entry: the singer Matteo Cattaneo; his entering the band allows the Dropshard to achieve their goal: They have produced the second demo: DSII.
They debutted with the new line up in march 2009 collectig a lot of compliments among the audience.
Unfortunately the singer has left the band because of a series of misunderstandings; but a new singer has taken part of the band: Enrico Scanu. Eventually the band is completed and all the ideas came across; the evolutions are about to be realized.
Now the band is working for the production of new songs and the preparation of new concerts.

Now the band is has completed its first full length CD for the UK label Sonic Vista. Anywhere But Home comprises a full suite of music written to be listened to in its entirety plus the bonus track Freedom Supermarket. Garnering astonishing advance publicity for its complex writing and impeccable production the album is already set to be one of the stand out releases of 2011.
There are shades of Riverside, Genesis and Porcupine Tree but in truth the album sets its own standards and provides a benchmark for a new decade of prog metal.

But these are only words, let the music play.
