I don't consider Opeth death metal, really, although there are some similarities Out of this list I've heard 8, and Death is BY FAR my favourite of them. Chuck Schuldiner was akin to a god |

Really? I've actually never heard anybody say that about Opeth... on the other hand, I've heard tons of progheads say that Opeth isn't progressive. EDIT: one you could have included to make the poll more eclectic is The Chasm, which doesn't really fall into any set death subgenre. And they kick ass to boot. ------------- Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want. |

I went with Death, but I love Atheist, Cynic, Bolt Thrower, Opeth, Carcass, At The Gates, and Suffocations. I was surprised by Obituary's absence from the list.
