The last couple of days I have been getting this generic page error thing a lot. Usually when I try to use 'edit artist infos'. It doesn't happen on every artist I try to edit, and this may just be a coincidence, but it seems that the error is occurring only on artists that have never been edited before. If I try to edit an artist that has been edited previously there doesn't appear to be a problem. I'm having a problem too. I've been trying to add artwork to the bands in prog metal but every now and then it leads me to a generic error page. I've noticed I get a generic error message every time I try to edit an artist that was added by Musicbrainz. This is annoting because many of these artists have no picture/no country/incomplete bios/incorrect genre tagging or countless other examples. I�ve found out that I�m able to add albums and edit existing albums, but as soon as I chose the "edit artist" option, to add a country code and links to homepages, I get the generic error code.
Is that also the problem you guys experience?

This is a problem with any band that has recently been added and NOT yet synched with MusicBrainz. Max is working on a solution.

I found them on MusicBrainz, but I got the GEP when I hit submit after attaching the code. When I removed it, deciding to add them manually, the band itself was submitted, but I can't add any albums because of that page. -------------

Both bands I've just added - I haven't tried adding vids to existing artists.
The bands are Iron Virgin (Rebel Rebel is the video) and Trapeze (Jury).

It appears there are two Iron Virgin profiles and one of them features the videos. I tried searching using the "Artist Search" box (duh! why dint I fink of that B4?
 ) and found the duplicate profiles. Fixed.

I�ve had an issue with videos that sounds similar. Had you already added the same videos you are trying to add now to the old entry ( the one you have now deleted)? If so! there�s an issue with re-adding deleted videos. Once deleted you are simply not allowed to add the same video again. There seems to be a pretty serious problem with the Generic Error Page issue right now. If I search for Metal Music Archives the link takes me to the Generic Error page instead of the frontpage of MMA. I understand there is a BUG in JMA or MMA that affect PA. When JMA and MMA are offline, PA is running fine. I need to investigate more, ongoing now ! |
