Last Reviewer's Challenge of 2017! This is running officially from next week, the 13th to be precise, then through January to co-inside with our next http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=12797&title=mma-best-of-year-2017-vote-will-open-jan-1st" rel="nofollow - best of year vote which is open to the public for the first time. Since this is last minute, I'm thinking that there not be reviewing partners or a ladder system like last time, but everyone (including non-participants) use this sign-up week to suggest 2017 albums to be put under review, which will then be randomly assigned to each reviewer. That way late comers can still take part. As always with a challenge review, you may only select albums that can legally be streamed or downloaded. Spotify and Bandcamp are good sources. You can select either unreviewed albums or ones that have been reviewed just the once (by yourself or someone else) that you'd like to see get more attention. Obviously it will be checked that you haven't already reviewed the album you are randomly drawn and if necessary the release changed. Depending on how many albums put into the hat, so to speak, you may get drawn multiple albums that you can either pick from yourself or review more than one of. I'm in. As for album suggestions: Bare Infinity - The Butterfly Raiser (No reviews yet, and I'm the only one rating it. Is on Spotify, at least for me.) Keldian - Darkness and Light (No reviews yet, and it's on Spotify, at least for me.) Persefone - Aathma (Is on Spotify, at least for me, and I'm currently the only one reviewing it.) Rage - Seasons of the Black (No reviews yet, and I know for sure it's on Spotify, at least for me.) I'll stop there, to allow for more variety. I've actually come close to reviewing all three of those (aside from Persefone, which I did review) so I'd definitely be willing to do any of them as part of the challenge, as well as one other album, if no one else does them. |

| After a brief sampling, I can confidently say Godflesh and Saturndust are both definitely out (I can't stand the vocals on either for more than a few seconds, lol) but Vinsta looks promising, so I can definitely review it. As I mentioned before, I'll also probably review one of my selections if they don't get used, which right now only Rage has been selected via randomizer. |

Devil Electric looks good, yeah. Looks like another band along the lines of Blood Ceremony and Avatarium on their latest album, which I tend to like. Which gives me at least two albums to work with, which I'll either pick between or do both. Also, do you have any deadline in mind for this? Because I want to get at least one more promo review before the years ends, so I wouldn't be putting any serious work on a challenge review for another week or so, at the very least.

+1 Most of the rest of your negative reviews haven't been ill received on this site, so as long as you remember to talk about the actual album this time I say go for it. I doubt this band attracts the same crowd as Elder, so you're probably safe from the fanboy brigade. Or I wouldn't mind swapping it with the Deathcore album I got.

Could the next reviewer's challenge go back to the old format of reviewing older albums with no reviews? I would much rather go back to not being restricted to new releases.
