I just saw this on my FB feed. I really like Riverside. And I would say they are the best rock band to come out of Poland. Period. (some of you guys may disagree, if we are talking 'metal', and not just rock). I'm now kicking myself for not seeing them this past October. They were playing just outside Detroit on the same night that Symphony X and Overkill were playing in Grand Rapids, MI. I went to the Symphony X/Overkill show.

Definitely the best polish modern rock band with English lyrics, we've got a few good bands that are not known outside of Poland due to their lyrics being in Polish, though. I read the farewell letter from Mariusz Duda, posted yesterday. This year is has been brutal on musicians. Who next? I only really liked the first couple of Riverside albums and the rest are ok but don't thrill me either but i'm always sad to hear news like this. I still haven't heard what was the cause. -------------
