Well they call their music contemporary metal. Ive taken a listen but they wont fit into Death, Thrash ( well a little but not enough) or Grind, so I guess Im out of the game.

They are tagged as Melodic Death/Groove Metal on EM - which I suppose doesn't help a whole lot with their placementUnhappy.

Did it really say Death? No growling vocals as far as I could hear. There are thrashy elements in the rythms but its not really thrash to my ears.

Yes, if you run a search on EM, you'll see the tagging. Unfortunately, there were no reviews for their only album.

Well, they are metal and I they do belong here. The problem, I think, is that MMA doesn't have a genre for this modern/contemporary ecclectic type of metal that a lot of bands are playing these days. In most cases, there are enough features from certain genres that we can classify them as (melo)death, metalcore, power metal or thrash metal. But these guys differ because they actually don't seem to be influenced that much by the Gothenburg/melocore tendencies that we see in a lot of contemporary metal. I guess that means that CiS' are quite original.

I'm thinking that we can alt. them for the time being - it may be far-fatched but we could argue that his vocals are a bit alternative, eh? Wacko (they actually remind me a bit of the vocals on Sacrosanct's "Tragic Intense")

I think we're facing the same problem there was at PA with 'modern' prog - something that will probably have to be tackled in the future. Personally speaking, I believe the best thing to do for now is to place them in Alt., and then move them when the time is ripe for another subgenre, or whatever.

I don't know if it's genius, but it's definitely almost five years of experience with similar issues on PAWink...

Does someone who's already made themselves familiar with the band want to make the addition or should I handle it?

By the way, I really like them for actually contacting PA themselves (although they ended up on MMA). Oh, and I like their music, too :-)
