Metal fusion can be very diverse, usually a term that describes metal music that incorporates more musical styles or genres. However, when about it, most people think of the extreme metal rooted ones like Cynic, Ephel Duath, Zu, Atheist, Meshuggah etc. This poll is NOT about them. That's why I have inserted the word progressive. The bands on the list incorporate several musical aspects for example progressive metal, tech metal, eclectic prog, experimental music, and most frequently jazz fusion. These are my favourites, they are all superb, usually instrumental, some brighter, some darker, some lighter, some tougher. Note that some bands are not included here at MMA (yet). However, all are at PA. So, the question is who do you like best?

Love Liquid Tension, Canvas Solaris, Exivious, Spiral Architect, Gordion Knot, and even Behold the Arctopus, but Animals As Leaders is an easy choice for me.  Why no Planet X or Relocator?

Good point, that's exactly why I have made such a long list: if someone might not know some of them, they are just before a great adventure, exploration and experience in a fantastic music univeseSmile
