Risen 3 is the correct answer. I love the gnomes reaction when you aim at them. Shouldn't do that really, gnomes are probably the best characters in Risen 2 and 3, but I remember them as the little shits from Risen 1 throwing rocks at the hero (and Risen 1 is one of those games that everything is tougher than a low level player) and killing him numerous times.

Damn, I know I've seen you post that exact image before, but I can't remember the name of that game now. I know you said it was one where you had to do everything exactly right, or you were basically screwed every time. 

Just found the name, by looking through the I section on a game site, because I remembered I Am being the start of the name: I Am Alive.
