^You should try the other three Thief games, some of the best stealth games I've played. I've been wanting to play the new one, but unfortunately my computer probably wouldn't be able to handle it well.

I expect I'll pick them up sometime. What sort of PC spec have you got by the way? I didn't quite meet the recommended spec (as always for newer games, my processor is a bit lacking) for Thief but still ran it at only just under 60FPS on average, on highest settings.

Intel(R) Pentium(R) D 3GHz CPU, 4GB Memory, 461GB Hard Drive space. I'm not sure what my other specs are.

Sounds quite old. Thief's minimum spec on Steam isn't the most helpful I've seen; just says 'high performance dual core or quad core'. Could mean anything.
A gaming PC is well worth getting if you can afford it though. I've had mine a few years now and it's served me faithfully. I have upgraded bits of it a few times though (I put in a GTX 970 recently). It shipped with a much lower spec than it has now. My CPU is the only major component unchanged. By the way I recommend a download of CPU-Z by CPUID if you ever want to know anything about your PC. It will tell you everything you need to know about your CPU, graphics, memory, motherboard etc. |

Bloodborne ended up being awesome, as expected. It was the reason I got a PS4, and it was good enough to make the system officially worth it already.
Also, Adam, I don't know if it's coming this year or not, but we now both have a new game to look forward to, confirmed for both PC and PS4. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The trailer for it was pretty epic.

Yeah I saw the post on PC Gamer about leaked details but I haven't watched the official trailer yet. I'm pretty hyped for that one.

Yeah, well, the whole "one guy against the whole world" theme of the trailer doesn't really suit the setting in my opinion, but hopefully they won't simplify stuff too much. The previous game was really good and it would be a shame if they tried to make it more accessible for the "less demanding" demographic ;) At the worst case scenario, we still have Cyberpunk 2077 to save the day. Still, my rig won't handle either of these games and I don't plan on upgrading any time soon so... Why do I even care ?

Cyberpunk 2077 is by The Witcher devs so I'm definitely interested in that one.

How are the more recent Deus Ex games? I've only played the first one, and I didn't like it.

Human Revolution easily ranks with the very best games I've ever played.
I have the first two games as well, but I haven't got into them yet. I did start the very first one once but the controls felt awfully dated and awkward and I couldn't get on with it.

I didn't like the first one much either, mostly because of the weird controls, like Adam mentioned. Human Revolution controls much better, and is more of a mix of stealth/third-person cover shooting, with very tactical combat, so it fits my style a bit better. Aside from the really horrible boss fights (which were apparently improved in the special edition), the game was awesome. It also had my favorite hacking system ever, which was pretty much a little mini-game in its own right. I really hope they bring that back for the sequel.

I have the Director's Cut of Human Revolution as well as the original. Boss fights were changed. Not sure if they were improved that much but there are other options for dealing with them now. They're still probably the weakest part of the game. Hopefully the new game does them better, or better still does away with them entirely. Still the ones in HR are good compared to the lone boss fight I just had to do in Thief. That was utterly ridiculous IMO, it completely threw off the whole pace of the game.
The best part of the new version of Human Revolution is that the DLC The Missing Link is properly integrated (IMO, it should have been in the first place). On the downside the new version was apparently based off an older build of the original and reintroduced bugs that was patched once. I know I encountered bugs when playing it that never occurred for me on the original, which was actually one of the most stable gaming experiences I've ever had.

^^I'll need to give Human Revaloution a try, sounds a lot better then the first one. I have many issues with the first one beyond the controls, I'll need to review it sometime.

You can usually get Human Revolution pretty cheap now, at least on Steam. I've seen it come up on sale for 75% off several times.
Thing is with controls, on PC with Keyboard and Mouse being used, most games stick to the same basic rules regarding what button does what, with occasional minor variations, such as a use key being E or F. For example in an FPS shoot is left mouse and aim with iron sights is right mouse. And that works wonderfully. But then you get a game like Bioshock Infinite, where aim is moved to Z on the keyboard, which is incredibly awkward to use (I remapped mine back to the right mouse where it belongs and moved Vigors to the middle mouse). I can't remember exactly but I think the first Deus Ex used something even more stupid like the [ or ] keys. Human Revolution though controls great, though it is another game where aim is not right mouse (it's middle mouse which it's much of a big deal) but that never matters to me in that game as I've never played it in FPS style. Stealth is much safer as it can be quite unforgiving if you get caught out of cover (cover shooting is 3rd person).

Actually no, I suspect I'd rack up another 1000 hours doing that if I got into that. Instead I'm now in the trading scene more, slowly building up towards a $5000 backpack.
