Raimundos is hard to put in a genre, they make all kinds of metal in their discography.

Hardcore, Metalcore, Heavy Metal, Classic Rock, Rap Metal (Suicidal Tendencies stuff), Pop, and in the early days Forr� (typical brazilian kind of music) they 'create' a new genre round here the Forrocore.

They're one of the most sucesfull brazilian rock bands in the last 20 years.

I don't if they fits, but I'm pretty sure they worth a listen.

They're definitely metal. They definitely have a hardcore influence to their sound. I also hear a bit of thrash and alternative metal there too. But I wouldn't go so far as to call them metalcore. I'll link this to those 2 genre team boards and let them decide which would be more appropriate. But I think thrash or alternative would be more appropriate.

I don't think their metalcore. Maybe traditional but closer to alternative metal, but definitely not metalcore.

They are definitely alternative metal and possibly the biggest alternative metal act in Brazil.

The vids Tupan posted are really helpful.  This would definitely be suitable for alt metal.  I've seen descriptions of the band being described as hardcore/punk.  Did they ever change sounds much or did they pretty much sound consistent for their career?  I'd just like to know in case any of their work should be classified as something else.

Raimundos always changed a bit from album to album, but they keep their hardcore influence on everything I think.

1994 - Raimundos - They were doing Hardcore (with this brazilian influence here and there)

1995 - Lav� T� Novo - Here they still have a lot of hardcore but heavier, I would say Crossover

1997 - Lapadas Do Povo - Really heavy, lot of Ratos De Por�o influence, some Trash I would say

1999 - S� No Forevis - Still heavy, but little more pop maybe

2002 - Em Kavookavala - back to the 97 sound I think (Fique Fique video above)

I wouldn't go as far as saying they are crossover thrash, but they were indeed quite heavy from what I recall.

As the only alternative metal team member, I say that they belong on this site.  It's just a matter of me finding the time to get them added.  Or if you'd like to do it, you can go ahead and add them / tag the appropriate albums as alt metal. Smile
