Haha Good way to put it. Yeah, his vocals are "almost" off key with the music but still fits! And the music and riffage get a bit technical. Also check this Entropy (which I featured on my long list) out as well, which has an even more angrier vocal tone with a touch of funk but still has the technical Thrash thing going. Now I JUST saw a mini-interview with them about their 3rd album (in 1992) called "Ashen Existence" and when I heard a cut, I was amazed it was the same band-as they have added a bit more aggression and "Cookie" Vocals into the 1 song, still pretty good stuff though: (actually, the vocals are all over the place, but he maintains that aggressive "chopping knife" staccato vocal style) Heres one I like a lot (No Cookies): I'll have to find this album out there . I finally got around to taking a listen to the US thrash metal act Panic ( thanks for the recommendation Antonio). Man I really love their snarling "fuck you" attitude.
Put a bit of very early Megadeth, some Exodus and a big spoonful of Overkill in there and youre just about there. Edited by UMUR - 08 Jul 2011 at 2:58am |

I like the D-beat influences on that song. I means, it's very punky in many ways. For the record, I am a fan of all Celtic Frost's output.... even "Cold Lake". |

I haven't heard much of Dew Scented nor The haunted. It's not my cup of tea, but I can see what you mean.

Ive listened to quite a few Dew Scented albums and always thought they were a kind of pale copy of The Haunted. A few more death metal elements but otherwise in that vein. Id listen to The Haunted any day over Dew Scented.

Not enterily my cup of tea, but I bought Dew Scented - Invocation once. It's modern thrash with many Death Elements, perhaps one of you will enjoy it, my fav song from the album.
Dew Scented - Arise From Decay Another album I bought (got this one really cheap) was Torture Squad - Hellbound. Modern Thrash from Brazil. It isn't the best I've heard but it got some really nice and catchy parts. The song structre is also really intresting. Torture Squad - Chaos Corporation And just to close this with a classic. It's from Celtic Frost's masterpiece Morbid Tales, one of my fav album of all time. Celtic Frost - In the Crypt of Rays Edited by Batnobbit - 25 May 2011 at 4:22am |

Man . . .
Since being soo busy the past few months, I've missed out on a lot, I have soo much to review and comment about I dont know where to begin. Umur, I really liked Altered Aeon! Never heard them till now but that Album cover looks very familiar. This is what I'm more into, Thrash with Technicality all the way .
Paradox was mentioned, I have only heard 1 album and thats "Heresy", before recently being re-issued, it took me over 17 years to find it on CD (I've had it on LP), when I was at one of my fave Record stores (that I'd later work at, then their Wholesale Warehouse/Record Distributor to find TONS more jems) in the "Bargain Bin" (98!!!) I just happened to come across it in 2005! With a dog-eared Cover but was soo happy to find it . Heres some other great melodic (and "somewhat") vocaled Thrash and Tech-Thrash Bands: Panic: Powermad (This stuff was way ahead of its time!): Laaz Rocket: Entropy (Can.): (They need to put up more Audio-Tracks from this great album!) Xentrix: Realm (an absolute fave!): (1st Thrash band I heard use Guitar Synths!, their 2nd "Suiciety" is a Tech-Thrash/Prog Metal masterpiece). Rosicrusion (another obscure fave): (previous album sounded more Death Metal and w/ the original vocalist/grunter. This album retains the Death Metal sound musicaly). Be sure to stick-around for the "Hidden Track", like Athiest, these guys prove that many Metal Bands can indeed play "anything" . Reverend: (What a HUGE loss to have David "The Reverend" Wayne depart this Earth, former front man of Metal Church ). Sabbat (U.K.): (Okay, just cant talk about these guys enough, most fans HATE this album , and Guitarist (and now Producer/Engineer extraordinaire) Andy Sneap said that he just put "Too much into it" :P Most like the ferocious Vox and master of the English language Martin Walkyier [left to form Skyclad] and its Folk/Pagan Tech-Thrash. After he left they hired-on a more "Operatic" Vocalist Ritchie Desmond, and create some pretty incredible Tech-Thrash/Math Metal! Its too bad that this album is now the RARE find-as their 1st 2 have been re-issued ). Prototype: (Another incredible band, plus- Lead Guitarist Kragen Lum plays with Heathen and appears on the latest "Abysmal Dawn" [Death Metal] album, and Singer/Guitarist Vince Lavelois are friends . They are also working on a new album!). Great Tech-Thrash/Math Metal! And . . . Their "Thrash" Band (as how they started) Psychosis: (And it was a great honour to design their new Logo and the "Icon" behind it, and have the great "Travis Smith" to add his finishing touches! ). Dont forget . . . Heathen (from their 2nd in 1991): Okay . . . Thats it for now (I'm tired! ). Edited by MAVIIIVAM - 05 Aug 2011 at 7:29pm |

Ive been banging my head in the car and drumming the wheel like a nutcase this morning to this one:
My God "Bleed" is just the most unrelenting and punishing track ever. The guitarists must have some severe cramps after playing that song. Crazy stuff. After the song ends Im completely wasted.

I like the thrash bands that have the more complex music styles like Nevermore or the guitar driven elements like Testament. Gotta be in the mood for Slayer.
