^^ Great track !!
Going back a bit here - Slayer ‘Divine Intervention’. This album is a recent discovery for me and could well be my favourite (well, equal with Hell Awaits). I actually love the rough and raw production, it seems to work for the album. Bostaph is on fire, the guy is nuts, and I really dig Araya’s, verging on un-hinged, delivery. As usual, guitaring just shreds. The cover art is insane !! Just wondering if there’s others around here that love this album too ?? |

I'd call it proto-thrash. Overall sounds more like a heavy prog/psych song.

Loving the new Overkill album, it's easily already my AOTY. It's up there with the band's best albums:

^True, but that's why this exists:
Although I'll admit it's kind of odd, as I've gotten so used to the original sound.

Currently listening to one of my favorite Overkill songs, and that bassline during the bridge is one of my favorite riffs to play on bass:
Thrash in general seems to be made for bassists.

The Pack is probably my favorite on the album, the drums are absolutely killer. Their second album, Solitary Solitude, is really great too.

^That´s a cool interview. He sounds like a nice guy with many great ideas. I´ll be looking forward to their third album. Hopefully this year.

My brother who got me into metal had that album. I remember back in 1989-1990, the years where I raided his collection for my own investigative purposes I gave that album a chance. I kinda liked it but I was not blown away. I told my brother that and he said, "well, did you pay attention to the Pack?", which is the last song on the album. I hadn't really. I did. It was awesome.
Getting back to Vektor (it's a disease, I can't help it!), I uploaded on my blog the review I had written for Metal Hammer (also found on this site, which is where the translation comes from!) but also the interview I did with David DiSanto. Which I think is very cool and interesting. Check them out if you want: Review: http://vics-dungeon.blogspot.gr/2016/01/vektor-outer-isolation-heavy-artillery.html Interview: http://vics-dungeon.blogspot.gr/2016/01/vektor-thrash-till-heat-death.html |

^I need to check out Vektor at some point, I've heard a lot of good things about them.
I recently discovered the band Meliah Rage, really great yet underrated band. Their debut album is an absolute killer! Edited by Unitron - 19 Nov 2015 at 11:15pm |

Dark Order are pretty good if you like 4Arm, good blend of melody and thrash too. Cold War of the Condor is a good album to check out if you are interested. |

Great bands, love Kreator, Slayer, and Testament. I'm going to have to check the others out at some point. 4Arm is definitely a great recent thrash band, Survivalist has a great blend of melody and speed.

Kreator, Guillotine, Slayer, Destruction, Testament, Dark Order, Sacred Reich and Savage Messiah are a few of my favourite thrash metal bands.
One of my favourite thrash metal bands recently has been a band called 4Arm. I can recommend Submission for Liberty and their latest album Survivalist as great listens if anyone is interested. |
