I thought this was great. Rather criminally unknown too.

^I´ve seen it once many years ago, and I thought it was pretty great.

Watched Stake Lands II (The Stakelander) yesterday. I like the post-apocalyptic feel of the Stakelander movies, but it´s a pretty shallow story featuring some pretty stupid people, who would probably not survive five minutes IRL if a vampire apocalypse should happen.

Silent Running (1972)...meh pretty bad sci-fi

Soylent Green (1973). I liked the idea, but the acting and the effects, not so much.

How the fuck did the mess that was Everything Everywhere All At Once win the best picture Oscar over this? Brendan Fraser is amazing. And the rest of the small cast are too.

Taking the piss out of slasher movies by playing it absolutely dead straight. Pooh and Piglet are horrific, while their victims are mostly moronic. There's some nice and gross very low budget special effects. And while a lot of people hate this, I've seen a lot worse - this is better than the Banana Splits Movie.

This is better than I thought it would be. Obviously there's a lot of dramatic license being taken here but still, it's a good story. Loved the way the action occasionally went pixelated like an old school video game.

Best picture 1935, and rightly so it seems. Although they have equal billing, Charles Laughton's portrayal of the vile Captain Bligh is far more memorable than Gable's sanitised Fletcher Christian.

Possibly a brilliant stage musical, but ultimately not a great musical movie. Most of the songs have been cut, and even an all-star cast including the likes of Zero Mostel, Buster Keaton, and a young Michael Crawford can't save it from a stupid story. There is a nice slapstick chariot chase though.

R.I.P. Sir Les and Dame Edna. Pretty silly and Barry Humphies himself was embarassed by it. It's mildly racist and homophobic, and highly sexist, but it's a product of a different time.

Tim Roth's first role, and it's fucking intense! Trevor is a young skinhead who's bored and seems to seek out trouble and annoy people just for something to do. The Exploited provides the intro and outro music.

Nothing ground-breaking or new, but still good fun. Very interesting to learn about the opinions on grunge bands not reciprocating when metal bands had helped them out in their early careers.

There's some amazing footage here. This is about Bay Area metal as a whole, not just the thrash scene most people are familiar with. The soundtrack is brilliant too, with obscure demos, shredding compositions, and all sorts of cool stuff.

Classic Troma! Less nudity than a lot of their movies, but still as delightfully silly and ultra-violent as you'd expect.

Just what you'd expect from the sequel - a comedic plot, slapstick fight scenes, and a lot of fun.

A successful transfer of a stage show to the big screen. Most of the cast is the original Broadway cast, with Doris Day tacked on. She even admitted to being nervous to join the cast because of how tight they were.

Once again, a movie I saw when I was a kid and now wonder what the fuck my Dad was thinking! (With a lot of these movies, my mother went to bed so I'd stay up with Dad to watch them, and then he'd fall asleep, so that may have been a big part of itWink)

This is what all music documentaries should be. Even if you're not familiar with the music, it's not your typical band, and it's a good story.
