I enjoyed Hidden Figures. Movies about the space race, especially little known things like that, really intrigue me.

I saw The Right Stuff when I was a kid, and really should revisit again some time as an adult.

I wasn't sure about this one based on the premise, but it's Kurosawa so didn't avoid it. Glad I didn't, it's another gem.

Yet another famous movie that turns out about as interesting as watching paint dry.

A rather short Finnish vampire film from the 50s. Some good cinematography, and an unique twist on vampire lore, but it's not too riveting in the results. Not bad but not a re-watcher.

I watched the first season and liked it but haven't kept up with any shows.  I don't even have a tv anymore

Saw this today:

I thought it was excellent. It strove to be mostly historically accurate, and didn't have the usual stupid Hollywood crap like a romantic interlude, or a big dramatic ending - the end seemed more like OK, that's that bit done, we gotta keep going. Loved the battle sequences. Some of those were incredible.

Also watched this:
I love the way it rips the complete piss out of superhero movies, which I hate with a vengeance. Love the laugh a minute stuff, the characters not taking themselves too seriously, the fourth wall breaking, and Julian Dennison was brilliant as the first plus size super hero. Too many brilliant jokes to list them all.

Starting going through my Hitchcock blu-ray set:

This is one of the two I didn't own before. I had actually bought it before, but the DVD was an obvious counterfeit. I had seen it elsewhere since though, but not in good quality. I enjoyed the film a lot more this time around, though the villain's final scream is pretty unconvincing acting.

Since on my new rating system I cap movies I've only seen once to a max rating of 4.5 stars, this one just become the first (of likely a few) Hitchcock movies to get the full 5. Love the tension in it.

Other films seen for first time now:

This 40s spoof western had some funny slapstick bits, but mostly I found it rather poor and boring.

Surely one of film's greatest dogs. Also one of the saddest movies I've ever seen.

Something really different from Kurosawa here. There isn't really much of a story as such, it's just quirky, though gradually becoming tinged by tragedy.

Film #3 from the Hitchcock blu-ray boxset. Second 5* movie. This one is like one morbid pun after the other. Personally although it's not a popular consensus I consider it a black comedy.

While I greatly enjoyed this French Polar movie, I found the ending rather implausible, but maybe it's a difference of perspective on what grounds the cops will charge someone with a crime in the 1950s compared to today because even though that were right, they had very little evidence that was presented to the audience.
