 Watched this because I think decent fantasy films are few and far between. Film was decent enough but I wouldn't call it fantasy as advertised since none of the fantasy elements turned out to be real in a cliche 'plot twist'. It's more like some kind of psychological film dressed up as fantasy.

I've left this a while since posting so no pictures this time:
Deliverance (1972) - enjoyed it. Lawless (2012) - excellent, one to watch again. Lion (2016) - decent biopic. The Bye Bye Man (2017) - not great but also nowhere near as terrible as some would lead you to believe. There are a lot worse horror movies than this one. The Missouri Breaks (1976) - entertaining western with Marlon Brando playing a quirky regulator. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007) - 'one of the best westerns of modern times' - my arse it is. Slow, drawn out far too long and largely uncompelling viewing. The Salvation (2014) - Danish made western. Apart from the Danish settlers in the Old West, a perspective I've not seen before, the story is pretty standard but overall a decent film. Red Hill (2010) - excellent neo-western. Django, Prepare a Coffin (1968) - The semi-official Django title amongst 30 or so that reference the name, this one unfortunately has some continuity errors with the original film, but it some ways I actually found it a better title. Sweet Vengeance (2013) - Very average revenge western. The Quick and the Dead (1995) - Some fixed feelings on the actual story, but overall an entertaining western. Finding Dory (2016) - Obviously not as good as Finding Nemo, but still pretty funny for children and adults alike. Ravenous (1999) - This horror western felt a bit light on the actual western elements to me, but overall a decent, atypical horror film. It has a similar theme to Bone Tomahawk and would be a good film to watch if that one was 'too western' for horror viewers. The Missing (2003) - underrated western with Tommy Lee Jones. Wild Wild West (1999) - almost in the 'so bad it's good' category. Almost, but not quite. Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) - Don't get the backlash against this film. I think it may be my favourite new Star Wars film so far. Road to Perdition (2002) - excellent gangster film. Hanna (2011) - enjoyable film about a teenage assassin. Public Enemies (2009) - enjoyed it in the end but not the most compelling tile overall. Feel like it could have been a bit shorter and better off for it. Edited by adg211288 - 28 Sep 2018 at 1:35am |

 The original film was a childhood favourite. This modern sequel leaves mixed feelings on a lot of things. A lot of it just felt like satire on video games.
